More About Me

My mother, grandfather and other relatives were Real Estate Brokers in the Boston area and in my family, houses were always being previewed, bought, sold and decorated. My grandmother, Kitty, sewed, wallpapered, braided rugs, made macramé chairs and generally created the ambience of many family member homes with her sheer decorating prodigiousness.

The robust business I enjoy is based on referrals from clients and friends. I work full time, know the contracts, understand how to price your home, know how to write a professional, clean, offer and can negotiate and get your transaction closed. I am a Certified Negotiator and a 5 Star award winner for real estate excellence.

I am in my 15th year as a Realtor. I earned an MSW at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and worked as a Social Worker for many years in a variety of interesting and compelling jobs. I changed careers in 1994 and went to Shoreline Community College to learn computer skills and landed a job in television at Evening Magazine and then KCTS 9 where I won several regional Emmy Awards for Producing and Assistant Producing.

My husband is an Architect and we aligned our careers in 2004 when I got my Real Estate license. He is a leader in the Seattle community in the Passive House/low energy building movement and we are currently building our second “mini” Passive House home at the Wood Construction Center at Seattle Community College where he works with a new generation of students, introducing them to the future of low energy building techniques.

We have lived in Ballard for 35 years and raised our 3 children here. My children live on Orcas Island, Columbia City and San Francisco. We have 4 grandchildren (so far!). I am a long-standing Board member of the Sunset Hill Community Association and a supporter of several local charities. I love black and white photography and to take classes in art at the Gage Art institute.

Thank you for your business and for your trust in Sharon and me!
